About UsCrayons, Cradles, and Cribs is a small, state licensed,in- home daycare located on the East side of Des Moines. Our daycare was created especially for those parents who would prefer a more personalized care that I am able to provide for their children unlike many centers and larger daycares. |
More about Sierra: |
My name is Sierra and I am 23 years old. I live in Des Moines with my husband, my two school-aged step-children, and my son born November of 2015. Currently the only pet we have is a cat that mainly likes to be outside. We may be looking to add a puppy to the family later. I have taken child development and nutrition classes in college. I am currently CPR and First Aid certified and look forward to expanding my knowledge with even more training.
I previously worked for Nationwide Insurance, but after having my son I did not want such a hectic work schedule and wanted to be a part of watching him grow each day. I started the end of my maternity off working at a daycare and was lucky enough to work in the infant room with my son. I soon realized that most of the time several children were sick or coughing, the teachers had so many things to do and with so many children per teacher we hardly had time to actually play with the children. After working there for a short time I realized that I wanted to start my own daycare with the benefit of taking care of less children and being able to pay more attention to them. I started my journey with finger prints, background checks, and everything in between, then the time came where I became certified by the state and now I could start setting up my home! I have always baby sat for family and friends and have always absolutely adored children of all ages. In the future I plan to go back to school for pediatric nursing. Some of my favorite activities with children include art, music, and reading! I constantly research and read articles regarding how to engage children, how to get them to try new foods or activities, etc. Pinterest is my best friend when it comes to activities and different crafts. |
